Preparing for Transport of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Through the Panamá Canal

ABSTRACT: While the efforts of National Response Team (NRT) - Panama Canal (in Spanish, Autoridad del de Panamá or ACP) Subcommittee are primarily focused on environmental protection issues, there is evidence that these same concerns may simultaneously have tremendous economic impact. The basis for Memorandum Agreement (MOA) between ACP and NRT agencies was conceived over pollution events within area responsibility ACP. In keeping with spirit MOA has made giant strides improving preparedness response capabilities doing so, interests as well countries United States all benefited. Any impacts interrupt day-to-day operations would deleterious worldwide effects. We will discuss increase in LNG vessel traffic years since opening expanded locks activities two groups.
